Additional Preschool Ministries

Childcare

A staff of trained, caring employees provides care for our youngest preschoolers on Wednesday and Sunday evenings and for children through Grade 6 for special events as scheduled throughout the year.

Childcare Guidelines used at First Baptist are available online or by calling the Childhood Ministries Office (428-9411).

Cradle Roll

An intergenerational group of moms and grandmothers who provide care and support to young families through prayer, visitation, parenting, listening, and being available when needed. This support begins before the birth of the baby and continues through the child’s enrollment in Sunday School and Family Dedication. Call 428-8411 with questions or to add someone to this ministry.

Family Dedications

Families are offered the opportunity to make a public commitment to the Christian nurture of their children through their participation in a Family Dedication service at various times throughout the year. This commitment is for both parents and the church as we dedicate ourselves to providing both a family home and a church home rich in Christian love and nurture. If you would like more information about this Dedication Service or would like to be included, please call the Childhood Ministries Office, 428-9411.

This is a special "night out" for mothers of preschoolers 2 and under. A time with other mothers whose children are in the same developmental stage, a meal planned just for you by mothers who have been there/done that, and a short program/event/pampering time with just moms.Childcare is available with reservations. Information for these events will be mailed and listed in the Messenger. For more information, call the Childhood Ministries office: (256) 428-9411.

Worship Helper Class

The four-year-old Sunday School year is the time we begin to transition children from Worship Care into the experience of congregational worship. To help in this transition, we offer a series of "Worship Helper" classes for the children in the fall of each year. During the Worship Helper classes, various worship leaders meet with the children to discuss different aspects of congregational worship. Particular emphasis is given to helping the children know how they can participate in the congregational worship experience. Our Worship Helpers are welcomed to Worship on the first Sunday of Advent.
