Mark
was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised as a "Preacher's Kid"
in Texas and Tennessee. He graduated from Union University in Jackson,
Tennessee, and holds a Master of Religious Education Degree from Southwestern
Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Mark has been Minister to Students at First Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, since 1992, and in September of 2001, became the Experienced Adult Minister. Involved in Student Ministry for 29 years, he served as Minister to Students at First Baptist Church in Roswell, Georgia; F.B.C. in West Monroe, Louisiana; and F.B.C. in McComb, Mississippi.
This new ministry with Adults 55+ involves those who are almost retired, those who have just retired, and those who have been retired, and a ministry to homebound.
Mark has said there is little difference between Youth and Seniors. With Youth there are middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students. With Adults 55+ you have the go-goers, the slow-goers and the can't-goers.
His goal is to develop a full blown Adults 55+ Ministry that includes Bible Study, Discipleship, Missions, Music, and Recreation; a ministry to the whole person, a ministry that's Bible-based, person-centered, and life-focused.
He has led Youth Sunday School Conferences, both in Glorieta and Ridgecrest Baptist Conference Centers, as well as numerous locations across the United States. He has been responsible for leading Students on Mission work in Huntsville through World Changers and Habitat, supported work in Perry County, Alabama, Canada and other places too numerous to mention. His love for the Lord, heart for missions and enthusiasm is contagious.
Mark and his wife of 31 years, Angela Barton Seanor, who also grew up in Chattanooga, met on a trip to the Holy Land. They have two daughters. Natalie Seanor Lea who graduated from Samford University and UNC with a degree in early elementary education. Michael, her husband, is working on his masters at Duke University and is the pastor of Bullock Baptist Church. Aimee, the youngest, will graduate from Samford University in May 2005 with a business degree. Mark's other interests include, hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, and working on his car, a 1936 Terraplane, and spending time with his family.
