Big Topics Series

New Sermon Series - BIG TOPICS

Our pastor, Dr. Travis Collins, will address these topics in the morning worship services at 8:15 a.m. (Life Center) and 10:30 a.m. (Sanctuary) and in more depth each Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. (Life Center). Special guests will make presentations and field questions on the topics.

    Human trafficking is the second largest criminal industry in the world, generating $150 billion annually. Come hear what the North Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force is doing to help stop human trafficking and how our community can help. Special guests Lynn Caffery, Tennessee Family Services Regional Director, and Pat McKay, Chair of the Huntsville-Madison County Human Trafficking Task Force. Ms. Caffery was actually trafficked as a little girl, and both ladies have broad experience in battling the practice of human trafficking in our area.

    Special guest, Fisher Humphreys, retired professor, Beeson Divinity School and author of numerous books, including For God So Loved the World. Dr. Humphreys is a renowned scholar and an expert in the debate between the belief that Jesus died for the "elect" and the belief that Jesus died for all who will turn to him.

    Special guest, Carolyn McKinstry, author of While the World Watched: A Birmingham Bombing Survivor Comes of Age During the Civil Rights Movement. Mrs. McKinstry was a little girl and in the 16th Street Baptist Church when it was bombed in 1963, resulting in the death of four of her friends. She is a faithful follower of Jesus who is passionate about racial reconciliation.
