Opportunities for Ministry Experience at First Baptist Huntsville
 
Summer Internships
First Baptist is looking to fill ministry internships for the summer of 2014.
 
The internship is for ten weeks from the end of May to the beginning of August and offers many opportunities to plan and lead ministry activities, develop relationships, and grow in ministerial experience. Persons eligible to apply for the position are graduating college seniors or seminary students looking to ministry as a vocation. The compensation is competitive with other summer job possibilities. Housing will be provided through the internship.
 
Three internships are available in the following areas:
  • Children's Ministry
    • Work with the ages of birth through 6th grade in areas related to Bible school, music camp, summer camp, various activities, and parent ministry.
  • Student Ministry
    • Work with the ages of 7th grade to college in the areas of weekly activities of discipleship and missions, summer fellowships, and summer trips  
  • Music Ministry
    • Work in all our music areas including sanctuary choir, orchestra, contemporary worship, and children's music camp.
In addition to experience in specialized areas, summer interns will be awarded the opportunity to participate in pastoral care, staff planning, reflection of ministry performance, and the overall ministry and mission of the church.

One-Year Student Ministry Residency
The residency is a new ministry opportunity at First Baptist Huntsville. The term will be twelve months beginning summer 2014.
 
The residency offers many opportunities to:
  • Plan and lead ministry activities, calendar, trips, budget, and more
  • Develop relationships
  • Work alongside a quality and experienced ministry staff
  • Grow in ministerial experience
Persons eligible to apply for the position are graduating seminary students looking to vocational ministry in the field of student ministry. The compensation is competitive with other residency programs.
 
In addition to experience in student ministry, ministry residents will be awarded the opportunity to participate in pastoral care, staff planning, reflection of ministry performance, and the overall ministry and mission of the church.
