A SERVICE OF ORDINATION FOR
EMILY KATHERINE HULL

Upon completion of her Master of Divinity Degree from the Wake Forest University, School of Divinity, First Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee and Dr. Bill Shiell, Senior Pastor, asked Emily to consider being ordained at First Baptist Knoxville where she spent her formative years as a teenager. This Service of Ordination took place on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 7:00PM in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Knoxville.

As you will see in the Order of Worship, Dr. Bill Leonard who was Dean of the School of Divinity at Wake Forest during Emily’s student years preached the Ordination Sermon. Her father, Dr. David Hull, who is Pastor of First Baptist Church, Huntsville, AL., gave the Ordination Charge. Several years ago, Dr. Bill Leonard presented the Ordination Charge at Dr. David Hull’s Ordination Service while Dr. William Hull preached the Ordination Sermon. Emily’s mother, Jane, (who was ordained nine years ago by First Baptist Church, Knoxville while serving on the Church Staff) and her brother Andrew participated in the service along with other close friends and family. Dr. Joe Phelps, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, Louisville, KY where Emily serves as Minister to Young Adults offered the Prayer of Ordination.

Many folks who were unable to be present for this special service have asked about the service. With the generous help of First Baptist Church Knoxville, their Senior Pastor, Dr. Bill Shiell, Church Staff, and TV Committee, we are able to share this Service of Ordination with you on our website.
