Teaching Format:  The format our teachers primarily use is teacher-led discussions. The teachers rotate on a monthly basis. We have a brief opening assembly to review prayer needs, to hear praise reports and to acknowledge birthdays. The remaining time is devoted to Bible study.

Curriculum:  We are a Spirit-led, Bible-centered Department. We use "Explore the Bible" dated literature, published by Lifeway Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention. This curriculum provides for a study through the Bible in a nine year cycle. The 1998 Statement of The Baptist Faith and Message is the doctrinal guideline. Scripture is taken from the New International Bible. We occasionally use optional studies; primarily those suggested in our literature. See our entry in the Adult listing in the people section for the current quarterly teaching schedule.

Mission Project:  Our Sunday School Class ladies cook on Wednesdays for Huntsville Hospital's Blount Hospitality House.  We spend time meeting and talking with the people who are staying there (those who need hospital services or are having family member currently in the hospital).  Our class members collect new and gently used books, magazines and DVD's and box and ship them to U.S. Military men and women who are currently serving overseas.  Several of our members also participate in home and foreign mission projects.

Social Activities:  Our  class activities include occasional after-church restaurant outings, Christmas Parties, movie nights with finger foods, etc.  We try to have at least two or three of these type functions each year.
