Precept Bible Study
In depth study of the book of Romans. Open to men and women of all ages. Meets on Wednesdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the Community Room. Teachers: Debbie Howard and Nancy Fuller. Begins in August.
Small Group Bible Studies for Women
Various studies based on well known Bible Study leaders such as Beth Moore, Joanne Weaver, Lysa Tyrkhurst, and Priscilla Shirer. Sunday nights, Tuesday mornings, Wednesday nights. Led by women in our church. Fall studies TBD.
Ladies Sunday Morning Bible Study Class
Singe or marred ladies, with children and without, coming together to disciple and encourage one another through Bible study, book and video series. Teachers: Yvette Hawkins, Jennifer Matthews, Tammy Steinberg.
Airborne Sunday Morning Bible Study Class
If you find yourself homebound for a length of time due to illness, then call in to this time of prayer, fellowship, singing, and study led by Len and Kennie Worlund. You can still be a member of your regular Sunday Morning Bible Study class and participate in this 30 minute class on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:00 a.m.
The Arts and Jesus
Stitching in Love for His Kingdom is a group of FBC ladies that love to sew and use their creativity to complete mission projects and other needs in our church. They have a teaching spirit and are eager to teach mothers and daughters how to sew. SILK meets on Tuesdays from 2:00-5:00 p.m. In Room 107.
Our FBC scrapbooking groups meets several times during the year with daytime and evening sessions. Reservations are requested. A relaxed opportunity to share photos, stories, laughter together while creating a meaningful album or memory projects. For more info contact Kay at email@example.com.
Experience God’s Word in a whole new way that is revealing and a bit artsy. Give your “thinking” brain a rest and let your “creative” brain take over with this step-by-step approach to Bible Journaling. Use a Journaling Bible or a regular Bible and your favorite pens and markers. All ages welcome! And it’s not just for the ladies! Meets several times a year.

Retreats & Conferences
A Young and Median Adult retreat to the beach to stay in “The Pink House” at Gulf Shores. It is a perfect time of renewal, rest, and relaxation. Every odd year in April. This year’s retreat is April 22-29.
A Young and Median Adult retreat to “The Cottage at Ashville” on the banks of Lake Neely Henry Lake in St. Clair County. A beautiful home and pool to enjoy while we get to know one another with games and small groups. Every even year in the spring.
A Spanish speaking congregation led by Alex and Vanessa De Rubeis, church planters from Argentina. They provide worship and a small group Bible Study for adults and children. Childcare is always a need.
English as a Second Language provides teaching and fellowship for international students in our city. Child care is available. Volunteers welcome.
OneLess is First Baptist's response to God's call on our lives to care for the orphans in the world. Information, funding, and foster parent training are part of this program.
Women chosen to participate in the Christian Women's Job Corps® program attend intensive life and work skill courses that include Bible study and computer classes. The classes vary in length and are free of charge. Each student is assigned a mentor, and each mentor is committed to a one-on-one relationship to help build the student's self-esteem, self-confidence, and skills essential to success in life and work. Applications thru their offices in Suite 108.
WMU is a mission-focused organization with the goal that every person has the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel. WMU encourages women to pray for and give to missions, to learn and to educate others about missions, and to develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle through their support of the local church. This special time is for the "me" in Mommy! It's a great opportunity for moms of preschoolers to get to know one another while being spoiled by experienced moms. Join us for a meal and a special event/program planned with you in mind. Provided several times a year.
