More than a mosaic

from our pastor

Welcome!

I'm so glad you've taken the time to view our website. If you are contemplating whether or not to visit one of our worship services or Bible Studies, I hope you will find this page helpful.

Below you'll find more info about everything from when we meet, how to get here and where to go when you arrive, and some other Frequently Asked Questions. We've also created a video just for you - we hope it will help your find your way around. Of course, if you have any additional questions, please reach out to us! I hope you will find that You Belong Here.

How do you get here?

Where do you go when you arrive?

If you are visiting our 8:05 First Fellowship service, you’ll probably want to enter our property from St. Clair Avenue and park where you see signs for Guest Parking. There, you can easily access our Life Center by using Entrance 7.

However, if you are attending our 10:30 Sanctuary Service, you may find that entering our parking lot from Governors Drive and utilizing the Guest Parking on the front of our building is easier.  Entrances 2 and 3 are your best access to the building.

Guests arriving for our Bible Study at 9:15 can use either of these two entrances, and our children's area is accessible from Entrance 4 for parents who seek to check-in their little ones.

If you are coming during the week, Entrance 1, located near the offices (dark blue on the map) will be your best entrance.

where do your kids go?

We encourage children ages 5 and up to worship with their parents at the 8:05 and 10:30 worship hours. There are age-appropriate resources available for your little ones on a bookshelf just outside of each worship service. For children 4 and under, we provide care in our secure Kids' Area during worship.

During the 9:15 hour, we provide age-appropriate Bible Study for all children, birth through 6th grade, in our 2nd floor kids' classrooms.

For security, we require all children to be checked-in at one of our kiosks located in the kids' check-in area inside Entrance 4. To pre-register your child for this coming Sunday, click here.

***Students who are 7th-grade and above are a part of our Student Ministry and will go to the Student Center for the 9:15 Bible Study hour.

***Volunteers who work with any aged child, from birth to 18, are required to pass background checks with the local Police Department as well as national registries, and are trained in best practices by qualified leaders.

New Children's Space

In 2019, our church decided to undergo a renovation of our Children's Ministry area. This project was completed in 2022. You can view the finished project above, and read more about it here

What Should You wear?

In the early (contemporary-style) service which meets in our Life Center, you will find most people dressed in anything from business-casual to jeans and T-shirts. In the later (traditional-style) service that meets in our sanctuary, you will find most people dressed in business-casual or jackets and ties for men and slacks or dresses for women.

However, we have no “dress code,” so feel free to come as you are!

We hope you feel welcome at First Baptist.  If you have any questions before or after your first visit with us, please feel free to contact us!
