The Living Christmas Tree is a choral/orchestral presentation of sacred Christmas music presented by First Baptist Church since 1984. The selections are different each year and represent a wide variety of musical styles and genres. The choir and soloists sing from memory. Guest artists are featured alongside the choir and orchestra each year. The Living Christmas Tree is our gift to the community. No offering is taken.

Admission and reservations for The Living Christmas Tree are free of charge. Reservations are only available online and will be available November 27 through December 14, 2023.

NEW THIS YEAR - Childcare will be available for $10 per child, per performance. Childcare reservations are required in advance, and can be made online when you make your performance reservations.

Doors will open one hour before each presentation for reservation-holders and seating is first come, first serve. Reservations will be honored until 15 minutes prior to each presentation, at which time seating will be open to all, including those without a reservation. A pre-Tree mini-concert of Christmas music begins 30 minutes prior to the presentation and is provided by orchestra, organ, and select ensembles.

Getting there

The Living Christmas Tree is presented in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church at 600 Governors Drive, Huntsville, AL 35801.

Please enter the church parking lot from Governors Drive. There will be parking attendants to direct you upon your arrival.

Handicapped parking is available. Please notify the parking attendant when you enter the parking lot from Governors Drive if you need handicapped parking. Please call 256-428-9433 to discuss other needs you might have, including the use of a wheelchair.

When leaving the parking lot after the presentations, please make only right turns onto Governors Drive and St. Clair Avenue. This will speed up the exit process for you and those behind you.

A Tree for Children

Because young children may not be able to enjoy a full-length presentation of The Living Christmas Tree, we provide an abbreviated version on Saturday morning at 10:30am, designed especially for them. The program is much shorter, and does not incorporate items like the candlelight processional, the guest artist, and narrative material. Musical selections are based upon the program repertoire likely most enjoyed by the children. The atmosphere is very casual, and keeping kids quiet is definitely not required.

Photography/Cell Phones

We ask that you refrain from using flash photography during the presentation. A camera flash is very distracting to those around you and also to the performers. Please silence your phone during the performance.

For additional information, please contact The Living Christmas Tree office by phone at 256-428-9433.
