During this unique year of 2020, First Baptist Church has been re-imagining The Living Christmas Tree. We are excited this year's Living Christmas Tree, Glory Revealed, will premiere December 19 on both WHDF-TV and WHNT2 at 7:00 p.m.
Instead of building and staging live presentations with hundreds of performers and a jam-packed Sanctuary auditorium, this year's LCT will be a beautifully pre-produced video broadcast for our beloved community to watch in the safety and comfort of their homes.
Glory Revealed incorporates new music from our virtual choir and orchestra, new music from special guest artists, and previously recorded highlights from the Tree video archives. The full broadcast will air via television, social media, and livestream beginning the Saturday night before Christmas, December 19. In addition to the premiere presentation on WHDF-TV and WHNT2 you can watch on demand via our church website (fbchsv.org) and social media platforms for days and weeks to come. It is our gift to you.
In addition to the FBC Choir and Orchestra, the Living Christmas Tree will feature the musical talents of Committed, an A Cappella group of five young men with strong ties to Huntsville's Oakwood University; Lisle Gwynn Garrity, a professional artist painting from her studio in North Carolina; and a troupe of young ladies from the North Alabama Dance Center, offering their interpretation of our archival recording of “The Little Drummer Boy.”
All of these forces will combine on-screen with engaging narrative and testimony to help interpret our Christmas theme this year, Glory Revealed. It has been a season of uniquely creative approaches as well as inspirational performances as each of these performing entities, along with our amazing technical crew, have risen to the challenge of that theme.
