Special Friends Ministry

A Place for All

Love, Care, Belonging

First Baptist is committed to ministering to every one of God's children. Here's How:

Building Accessibility

Restrooms meeting ADA requirements are available on the 1st and 2nd floors near the elevator. On the 2nd floor, there is also a family restroom near the elevator. Additional restrooms are available on the 2nd floor near the Sanctuary. Our Sanctuary is completely wheelchair accessible. We have wheelchairs available for those who need assistance for worship. Please see the ushers at the doors for this help.

Worship Enhancement

Large print Hymnals and Orders of Worship are available for those who may need them. We also have hearing devices available upon request from the Ushers.

Special Needs Adults

Faith Friends is our Sunday Morning Bible Study Class for Special Adults. Some of these friends have grown up at our church and have been a part of our Bible study for 30 years. Supported and taught by caring church members, this department is a vital weekly part of the Sunday Morning Bible Study Ministry. The group meets in the Community Room, which is just inside the doors and to the left of Entrance 7. Look for a covered drive in the back of the church off St. Clair Avenue.

Buddy Ministry

Sensory Room & Fidgets

Some kids need more or less sensory input than a typical worship service offers. To accommodate these kids, we provide Fidget Bags for use during worship. We also have a Sensory Room on the second floor (Room 212) that's available for kids who would benefit from some time there. They may stop by with their parents or teachers any time the church is open. Our Sensory Room is also staffed by trained, loving caregivers from 9 AM to noon each Sunday. If you think this might be a good place for your child, please come visit us!

We welcome people of ALL abilities. To talk more about how we may best serve your family, please email kristin.prasad@fbchsv.org.
